On 4 May, I am joining a bunch of people who will speak from various perspectives on the theme of 'explore', for a TEDx event.
TED is a nonprofit devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. It started out (in 1984) as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, Design. Since then its scope has become ever broader. Along with two annual conferences -- the TED Conference on the West Coast each spring, and the TEDGlobal conference in Edinburgh UK each summer -- TED includes the award-winning TED Talks video site, the Open Translation Project and TED Conversations, the inspiring TED Fellows and TEDx programs, and the annual TED Prize. (from the TED website). (check out this video for another explanation)
TEDxAdelaide will bring together an eclectic bunch of speakers who will be discussing what it means to explore, what we explore and why. Join us for the full-day ideas festival where you can participate in a morning series of tours around Adelaide and an afternoon selection of thirteen local speakers and selected talks from TED 2013.
You will be also able to explore the quiet spaces of Adelaide through the stereopublic project, one of the TED City2.0 Prize winners of 2012.
Tickets are on sale, and as these events are quite popular, get in quick to participate and explore.
