Another storytelling event has me all enthused ...
Last Friday at the launch of the Uniting College for Leadership and Theology I presented the scripture passage using Biblical storytelling. It was 1 Corinthians 12:14–27, where Paul is talking about the body consisting of not one, but many members.
The response was overwhelmingly positive.
People said simply, 'fantastic', or that it brought the passage to life and was much easier to concentrate on and get something out of that when it's just read by someone; others were inspired to use that sort of method for communicating the Biblical narrative themselves.
As I was telling the passage, I could see the connection, feel the connection with the listeners, intimately, even though there were probably 500 people in the room.
I'm inspired and enthused now to get a workshop or two happening, so look out for it, tap people on the shoulder who might be interested in enhancing their ability to communicate the Biblical narrative when the workshops come around. Let's get people excited about telling the foundational stories of our faith!
